You Cool?
I like to think I'm cool.
How long have you been Tattooing?
4 and a half, almost 5 years of actual tattooing.
I started my apprenticeship almost exactly five years ago.
Do you have a favourite vibe?
I really like having that really quirky, positive things that make-you-laugh-skin.
But with that same morbid subject matter.
An optimistic look at the depressing.
Describe yourself in 3 words?
Not self reflective. (As he stares into own reflection)
What do you do without telling what you do?
Unqualified therapist. (With a crazy look in the eyes and a LOL)
Like, as much as I do a lot of tattoos that don't have any meaning there's always a bit of meaning in everything. I think, whether they know it or not as well.
Like everyone picks something for a reason.

How to perform a patch test.
STEP 1. Prepare the Skin Surface. Clean of any other products.
You need to apply a small amount of the product to the skin behind your ear or inside your elbow.
STEP 2. Wait for 24 hours to see if there are any adverse effects.
STEP 3. Observe for Signs of Irritation
]]>A patch test is a way to test the compatibility of a substance or material with the skin. Patch tests must be done before they are applied to the skin. A patch test should also be done if there is any doubt about whether the substance or material will cause an allergic reaction. Patch tests may be used for substances such as makeup, cosmetics and soaps.
A patch test is a way to determine if you have an allergic reaction to a product before using it. Before using any new skin care product, you should always do a patch test. Leave it on for 24 hours, and then wash it off and check to see if there are any signs of an allergic reaction.
This can be done by applying a small amount of product on the skin, usually on the forearm, or behind the ear and monitoring for changes in skin colour or other symptoms such as itching or swelling and burning feeling. Other reactions may include tiny bumps, in worst case scenario, hives and dermatitis.
You should always do a patch test on any new cosmetics before you put them on your body. This is to make sure that the product does not have an adverse effect on your skin.
STEP 1. Prepare the Skin Surface. Clean of any other products.
You need to apply a small amount of the product to the skin behind your ear or inside your elbow.
STEP 2. Wait for 24 hours to see if there are any adverse effects.
STEP 3. Observe for Signs of Irritation
If there are no negative effects then it is safe to use the product as normal.
If you have an allergic reaction to a cosmetic product, it is important to know what to do in order to minimize the risk of it happening again.
The first thing you should do is stop using the product that caused your allergic reaction. You should also wash the area with soap and water and use a topical antihistamine cream if available.
You should also talk with your doctor about whether or not you need prescription medication like corticosteroids and antihistamines.

]]>YO! Oats are SUPER abundant in Australia, get on the oat train!
They are affordable, accessible & pretty effective. Oat body scrubs are a great way to get the healthy skin you deserve.
Body scrubs are a great way to exfoliate your skin and help it remove any impurities that may be clogging your pores.
The most common ingredients in these scrubs are oatmeal, sugar or salt.
These ingredients work together to make sure that you have soft and supple skin as soon as you scrub off the dead cells of your body with them.
BLOODY OATH.
Oat body scrubs are not only good for your skin but they also have a number of other benefits. For example, they can be used on all types of skins - sensitive, oily or dry - because they do not contain any harsh chemicals that might irritate your skin even more. Thank you Uncle Tobys.
Oat body scrub can also help with acne, dryness, & even eczema.
Quick quide:
-It can help with acne because it removes the dirt and bacteria that clog pores.
-It can help with dryness because it removes the dead skin cells that lead to dryness.
-It can help with eczema because it moisturises your skin from the outside in.
All right enough of that let's get onto some BASSSSIC recipes...

EVEN THOUGH YOU CONSIDER YOURSELF A TATTOOIST, CAN YOU DESCRIBE 3 WORDS WHO YOU ARE.
“Who I am? Nerdy. Awkward and Passionate."
WHAT’S THE ONE TOPIC YOU LOVE TO TALK & TEACH ABOUT?
“BREAD!” 🍞
]]>“I help facilitate peoples dreams. YEAH! Yeah dude. I make people feel more of what they wish they were.”
“They have specific ideas that they are not able to fully comprehend or realise themselves. Through talking to them and getting to know them and finding out what their journey is, even if it’s like, “I just want to look hot so girls like me.”
You make that a reality for them."
“Who I am?
Nerdy
Awkward
Passionate."
“I can’t really explain Tattooing. It’s just a thing, the more I do it, the more I love it. The more I find out about it the more I realise have no fucking idea about the physical and technical aspects of Tattooing.
Like the law and the history and the mythology of just my little niche of that I love. The more I learn. The more I fall in love with it. The more complex it is.
It’s cool as fuck."
Cue heroic ambitious music from the film Trainspotting in background...
“BREAD!” 🍞 🥖
"Yeah Dude, Because everybody loves fresh bread.
I love talking about bread. I love telling people I’m into bread.
I love making bread. I love that it makes people happy. Everyone has the same, like
"Are you fucking serious, it’s just bread man. It’s not just bread."
You make something out of such basic ingredients. When you have fresh bread, you get so excited. No one gets fresh bread and is just like not excited about it. “
“Healing. But they don’t know that.
For real, I think it’s one of those things that so many clients do a heaps good job at it. But if there in a place where they’re doing that, it’s because they have kind of worked it out.
You can give specific instructions to people but everybody’s is a little bit different. Every body’s body is a little bit different, you can have a really good product, but the way every body body works, they have to do it a little bit differently.
It’s really challenging.
Heal your Shit."
(That would make a great Bamboogoo shirt!)

Tattoos are a permanent form of body art that can be applied to any part of the body. They are often used as a form of self-expression and to commemorate important life events.
However, tattoos are not without their risks. The most common risk is infection.
The immune system plays a key role in healing tattoos because it helps to fight off infections and heal wounds. There are many ways to help your immune system heal your fresh tattoos faster and better, such as eating healthy foods, drinking lots of water, and getting enough sleep.
The healing process for tattoos is different for everyone, but there are some things you can do to help it along.
Jade Baxter Tattooist applying 'second skin' to help protect the new tattoo.
A skin scrub is a great way to prep the area to be tattooed. It removes dead skin cells and other debris that can clog the needle and cause infection.
Skin scrubs are also a great way to moisturize the skin before getting a tattoo. This will help keep your tattoo looking fresh for longer.
NO DRY SKIN means your Tattoo Artist is happy with your healthy skin for quality work.
Cleaning the skin will help avoid infections and unwanted issues.
Drink lots of water. Tattooing can dehydrate you, so drink plenty of water before and after the procedure.
Avoid alcohol and drugs
Tattooing can cause a drop in blood sugar levels, so make sure you eat something before getting tattooed.
Take care of your skin: Make sure to moisturize your skin and keep it clean to avoid infection or irritation
The healing time for tattoos varies depending on factors such as the location and size of your tattoo, your age and your immune system. A small tattoo may heal in one to two weeks while a large one could take up to six months to heal fully.
Tattoos are permanent and should be taken care of properly. Tattoo artists will give you a lot of advice on how to take care of your tattoo. But the best way to get it right is to follow these steps:
Wash your hands before touching the tattoo
Keep it dry at all times
Apply a thin layer of Aftercare every day
Avoid sun exposure as much as possible
Avoid swimming in chlorinated water for at least two weeks after getting the tattoo because chlorine can irritate your skin
We all know that tattoos are permanent and irreversible. But, do you know how to heal your new tattoo? It is important to take care of your tattoo as soon as you get it done so that it can heal well.
Here are the best tips on how to heal your new tattoo:
1. Keep the area clean and dry.
2. Apply a thin layer of Tattoo Aftercare.
3. Avoid sun exposure for at least two weeks.
4. Do not apply lotion or cream on the tattooed area until after two weeks, or when the peeling subsides.

The Rise and Fall of Instagram Influencers
Instagram influencers are individuals who have the power to influence their followers to purchase a particular product or service. They can be celebrities, social media personalities, or even just regular people with a large following on social media. The rise of Instagram influencers can be attributed to the fact that they are able to use their personal brand and reach on social media to advertise products.
There are some influencers who are still able to maintain their popularity over time, but they are rarer than ever before.
Most small cosmetic businesses, like us, cannot afford to hire more than one person for their marketing team, but we still need support on social media.
More importantly, small businesses are more likely to reach social media users through personal accounts on social networks (Should we list all out team here!?) - that is why it's so important for us to use real people with real faces that can develop engagement with online customers.
I feel like we all trust and buy from other people we know on social media because we want to feel like we are a part of something. I sure do love supporting people I see less than 3 degrees of separating away from me.
We want to know that the person we're are following have gone through similar struggles as us and has found a way to overcome them. I like to feel relatable rather than... unattainable.
People want to be able to relate and connect with others, which is why it is important for US to have a face behind our new Video posts and hopefully rest of 2022!!
Resemblance...?
The recent algorithm change on Instagram has caused brands to feel like their message is not being conveyed in the way they want to be conveyed, causing them to flee from Instagram. This algorithm change took away the chronological feed that showed chronological postings of people that one follows, and replaced it with an algorithm-driven feed that favors more popular content.
Some people feel that the algorithm-driven feed is more personalized and relevant, while others miss seeing their friends' posts in chronological order.
We miss seeing all our friends faces for sure!
Shall we be friends?

Why you should stop using petroleum jelly 🥴
Petroleum jelly can have devastating effects on the environment, animals, and humans. Petroleum jelly, soft paraffin, like Vaseline, are made from hydrocarbons.
Can I just say, it was probably exciting, useful product introduced in the late 1870’s but that was over 250 years ago people! Our world has changed, our needs and the way we view sustainability has greatly changed....
What are the 8 Best Petroleum Jelly Alternatives?
8 Best Natural Alternatives...
]]>Petroleum jelly can have devastating effects on the environment, animals, and humans.
Petroleum jelly, soft paraffin, like Vaseline, are made from hydrocarbons.
The most common hydrocarbons found in petroleum jelly include: pentane, hexane, heptane, octane and nonane. These hydrocarbons can cause serious health problems such as: liver cancer and respiratory difficulties when they enter your body through inhalation or ingestion.
If you are not careful with the application of petroleum jelly, it will leave a greasy film that will accumulate in your lungs and create mucus buildup.
Vaseline is a petroleum product. Petroleum products are not natural ingredients and can have a negative impact on the skin. Vaseline may clog the pores and prevent skin from breathing, which can lead to acne.
Can I just say, it was probably exciting, useful product introduced in the late 1870’s but that was over 250 years ago people! Our world has changed, our needs and the way we view sustainability has greatly changed.
We don’t consider Vaseline a sustainable or ethical product to use. Many people think it is natural and environmentally friendly but this is not the case. Vast amounts of petroleum and natural gas are used to produce Vaseline, making it a non-renewable resource.
Reasons on the block to validate the use of the ol’ Vaso or Petroleum Jelly:
I hear those needs are hard weird unique ones that need some SUPER HERO SOLUTION...
1. Apple Cider Vinegar - It is used as a natural antibiotic on cuts and scrapes.
2. Garlic - It has been used for centuries as a natural antibiotic and can be eaten raw or taken in supplements.
3. Turmeric - This spice is known as the "golden spice" because it has so many beneficial properties such as acting as an anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and pain reliever.
4. Unrefined Coconut Oil - This oil can be applied topically or ingested to help with skin conditions such as eczema and psoriasis, and it can also help with weight loss by suppressing appetite and controlling.
5. Jojoba Oil - is a viscous liquid. Ready to go. Mullet hero oil to be used as a skin moisturiser, hair & beard moisturiser and easily solve the problem of make up removal. As a non-comedogenic, it won’t clog pores.
6. Cocoa butter - (Theobroma Oil Extract) is used in the primary product of Chocolate, smells incredible, it melts when it hits your skin. Full of natural polyphenol and flavonoid antioxidants it is skin conditioning, paired for healing dry, sensitive skin.
You can get it in your health food store. There are a huge ranges of Cocao butters that are ethical sourced and fair-trade.
7. Shea Butter - is another really thick conditioning lipid (oil), but once melted can but be thick moisturising fun. Paired perfected for chapped lips and other areas of the skin that need nourishment & protecting.
Rich in vitamins A, E and F, Shea butter can help to reduce skin inflammation.
8. Extra Virgin Olive Oil - has been around longer than any Petro-chemical. So let’s get old school. Choose an organic, cold pressed, Non-GMO if you’re going to get this one right. Contains Vitamin E for skin repair, prevent ageing, skin hydration, reduce damage from free radicals.
& goes without saying (but I’m going to say it!)
Cannabis Sativa seed oil has been shown to be effective for relieving itching or dryness of skin.
The best alternative that one can have is the Cannabis Sativa seed oil which is full of Omega-3 fatty acids. It doesn't clog pores and has a light, non-greasy texture.
This is why we chose this as a super hero ingredient in our Tatt Wax.
Mangifera Indica Seed Butter is also known as mango butter and it is moisturising and nourishing for all types of skin types.

I had been making this juice before Breakfast every day for 21 days.
The thing I noticed THE MOST was less wrinkles OMG.
Not saying it’s a cure for everyone.
So I’m going to share a few other benefits as a juicy insurance policy!
I had this tiny wrinkle pop up one day when I randomly drank a coffee (As a non coffee drinker, & no wonder because coffee can dehydrate you!)
The next day I ditched the coffee and stayed back on the juice - the wrinkle plumped out.
Like, no longer a saggy used balloon… it was revamped with hydration.
I swear by the power of The Cucumber.

Cool as a…

I’ve always eaten flat leaf parsley like lettuce. It’s a super fast growing herb that is often over looked and you can find it anywhere!
So… why in juice? & Why the stalks too?
The stalks are actually a lot sweeter than the leaves
But here’s why I got obsessed with juicing the old Nona Herb…
Parley is team Vitamin!
I’m talking Vitamin K: For blood clotting & bone health.
Vitamin A, Vitamin C & other antioxidants including flavonoids.
Considered a detoxifying element to juices, clearing the skin of impurities will contribute to improving better skin Healing and the antioxidant agents in your body to fight off the free radicals (remember we talked about that in our last blog.)
🍵
Green Tea is optional.
Depends where you like to get your morning Kick from. The benefits suit this hydrating juice and adds a little extra light flavour.
Green tea is on team Antioxidants, like polyphenols & catechins, and also pairs up with parsley to double down on fighting free radicals.
The Polyphenols are fancy age fighting agents too, which we rave about to encourage superior skin healing.
How to Juice:
There’s no real science to this, make it your own. These ingredients are super complimentary & tasty together, each ingredient plays a winning role.
1 Cucumber
2 Green Apples
Sprig of Mint
Bunch of flat leaf Parsley (including stalks).
3-5 Kale leaves & stems. Why waste juice in any of the plant.
1/2 a Lime
Green tea (optional) Boil the tea before you make the juice let it brew and cool.

Living day to day life, you’re going to be exposed to some environmental nasties.
Like UV light, smoking & air pollution all landing on the top layer of your skin.
Your skin DOES breath and absorbs what touches it (Are we frogs? Hmm Not that far.)
The Antioxidants of the BAMBOO plant extract neutralise and support future damage to your skin from the 'roaming free radicals’ that naturally occur from being alive.
THIS MEANS...
we get to celebrate that the BAMBOO extract is an Anti-aging process!
